so, you’ve heard about dadand partner pay? do you want to know how to claim?to start, you should know we can’t accept a claim from birthmums, even on dad’s behalf. the dad or partner needs to claim. you can start the claiming processas early as three months before your baby’s birth.first, talk to your employer about taking two weeks unpaidleave to spend with your baby. the two-week period must be between your baby’s birth and first birthday.next, register for

online services athumanservices.gov.au/centrelinkonline then, log on and chooseapply for a payment then parent or guardian to claim. we’ll start work on yourclaim and contact you if we need more information. whenyour baby arrives, register their birth with births,deaths and marriages. then, give us proof of birth.there are three ways to do this: mum can give usthe newborn child claim for paid parental leave, familyassistance and medicare form

she’ll get in hospital.or, mum can send us a photo of the back page of theform when she completes her claim for parentalleave pay or baby bonus using our express plus families mobile app. or, you can give us a birth certificate. once we have all theinformation we need, we’ll finalise your claim and getready to pay you. this can take up to three weeks.if we finalise your claim before your unpaid leavestarts, we’ll pay you during
