hello there. my name's yvonne morris. for work i'm the children's adviser forthe diocese of oxford i'm also mum to two lovely children. in my time as a church-based youth and children's worker, i've been asked so many times by christian parents 'how do i share my faith with my children?' in fact, if i had a pound for every timei've been asked that question i could possibly retire as a quite a richyoung woman by now! however the answering of that question is never quite so easy.
so i've written this book - side by side withgod in everyday life - as a way to try to help christian parentsshare their faith with their children. it takes the themes in the 'time foreverything' passage in ecclesiastes - so the time to laugh, the time to cry,the time to dance, the time for war, the time for peace, all of those themes in there and it takes other bible stories as a starting point to open up those themes for parents to talk about those issueswith their children.
side by side with god in everyday life is a resource that asks many more questions than it answers, and in that way asks parents to perhaps bemore vulernerable with their children about their lifeand their faith than they might otherwise be. but i am sure that through exploringquestions together parents and their children can grow in their faith and see how they can walk side by side with godin their lives together.
